The Maine
The Maine is an American alternative rock band from Tempe, Arizona, formed in 2007. The group consists of John O'Callaghan (lead vocals, guitar), Jared Monaco (lead guitar), Garrett Nickelsen (bass guitar), Patrick Kirch (drums), and Kennedy Brock (rhythm guitar, backing vocals). The band's name originated from a song by Ivory titled "Coast of Maine".
The Maine debuted with the EP "Stay Up, Get Down" in 2007. Their first full-length album "Can't Stop, Won't Stop" was released in 2008, followed by "Black & White" in 2010, both under Warner Bros. Records. They left the label in 2011, releasing "Pioneer" independently.
With a transition towards matured songwriting and a polished sound, The Maine earned a dedicated fanbase. Their subsequent albums, "Forever Halloween" (2013), "American Candy" (2015), "Lovely Little Lonely" (2017), and "You Are OK" (2019), continued to showcase their growth and evolution as a band.
The Maine is known for maintaining a close relationship with their fans, organizing free tours and an annual festival in Arizona called '8123 Fest'. Their music, often described as a blend of pop, rock, and emo, has garnered them critical acclaim and a significant following in the alternative music scene.
