Starset

Starset is an American rock band from Columbus, Ohio, formed by Dustin Bates in 2013. Bates, a PhD candidate in electrical engineering and former teacher, is the visionary force behind Starset. He is known for his dynamic vocals and propensity for integrating scientific elements into music and storytelling.

Starset's music is a unique fusion of hard rock, electronic, and orchestral elements. Their debut album, "Transmissions," was released in 2014, and it quickly gained them a dedicated fan base with its themes of space and science fiction. The band's second album, "Vessels," released in 2017, continued this trend and expanded their sound with more electronic elements.

The band is also known for their immersive live shows, often appearing in spacesuits and using unique stage setups to simulate a spaceship environment. They use their music and performances to promote the Starset Society, a collective that aims to inspire interest in science and technology.
