Santana
Carlos Santana, born on July 20, 1947, in Autlán de Navarro, Mexico, is a renowned Mexican-American guitarist, known for his music that seamlessly combines rock, jazz, blues, and Afro-Cuban rhythms with Latin flair.
As a young kid, Carlos began learning the violin, then switched to playing the guitar while growing up. He was influenced by many blues guitarists, especially T-Bone Walker and B.B. King. In the 1960s, he formed the Santana Blues Band, which became popular in California. After performing at the legendary Woodstock festival in 1969, Carlos and his band had several hit albums with a Latin touch, centered around his unique and amazing lead guitar style.
Over the years, Carlos has been inspired by soulful musical heroes like Miles Davis and John Coltrane. His 1999 album "Supernatural" was a huge comeback success, winning him several Grammy awards, including Album of the Year for "Supernatural" and Song of the Year for "Smooth."
Besides music, Carlos is fascinated with spirituality and became a born-again Christian in 1992. Since then, he's seen himself as a 'musical shaman,' pursuing songs that bring hope and healing.
Other honorable albums include "Shaman" (2002), which won a Grammy, "All That I Am" (2005), "Corazón" (2014), and "Santana IV" (2016). To this day, he remains a beloved figure within the music scene, recognized through the induction of his band into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1998 and as a Kennedy Center honoree in 2013. That's why millions still love the music of Carlostic.
