Polyphia is an American instrumental progressive metal band formed in 2010. The group hails from Dallas, Texas, and is composed of four members: Tim Henson (guitar), Scott LePage (guitar), Clay Gober (bass), and Clay Aeschliman (drums).
Polyphia is known for their complex song structures and melodic hooks, blending elements of progressive, math rock, and pop. Their music is uniquely characterized by intricate guitar riffs, often with a technical emphasis, combined with catchy melodies and a heavy rhythmic foundation.
The band released their debut full-length album "Muse" in 2014, which charted at #45 on the Billboard Top Rock Albums chart. This was followed by the "Renaissance" in 2016, "The Most Hated" EP in 2017, and "New Levels New Devils" in 2018. Each album marked a progression in their sound, with increasing experimentation and incorporation of electronic elements.
Polyphia has toured extensively, sharing stages with notable acts such as Coheed and Cambria, Between the Buried and Me, and August Burns Red. Their innovative approach to instrumental rock music has earned them a devoted fan base and critical acclaim, positioning them as one of the forerunners in the progressive metal scene.
