Polaris
Polaris is an Australian metalcore band from Sydney, formed in 2012. The group consists of vocalist Jamie Hails, guitarists Ryan Siew and Rick Schneider, bassist Jake Steinhauser, and drummer Daniel Furnari. They first made a mark in the music scene with their debut EP, "Dichotomy" in 2013. However, it was their second EP, "The Guilt & The Grief," released in 2016, that catapulted them to national prominence, reaching number 34 on the ARIA Charts.
Polaris' debut studio album, "The Mortal Coil," was released in 2017 to critical acclaim. The album peaked at number 6 on the ARIA Charts and was nominated for the 2018 ARIA Award for Best Hard Rock/Heavy Metal Album. Their sophomore album, "The Death of Me," released in 2020, continued their success, reaching number 3 on the ARIA Charts and receiving another ARIA nomination.
Polaris is renowned for their energetic and intense live performances. They have toured extensively both domestically and internationally, sharing stages with notable bands like Parkway Drive and Architects. Their music is characterized by a mix of aggressive metalcore with melodic elements, emotionally charged lyrics, and technical musicianship. They have played a significant role in the Australian heavy music scene and continue to gain recognition globally.
