Otep

Otep Shamaya is an American musician who was born on November 7th, 1979. She started her career as a spoken word artist before transitioning into heavy metal with her band "OTEP" which she formed after being discovered by Jack Riley of Capitol Records at one of her poetry readings. The group has released seven studio albums since their debut album Sevas Tra (2002), including Kult 45 (2018) that reached number two on Billboard’s Top Hard Rock Albums chart. Their latest release Hydra Lernaia came out just last year. Throughout her musical journey, Otep has been known to use various instruments such as guitars or drums but also incorporates elements from other genres like hip-hop beats or electronic sounds making each song unique yet cohesive within its own style while still maintaining consistency across all tracks produced so far.
