Orgy
Orgy is an American rock band formed in 1994, from Los Angeles, California. The band's original lineup consisted of Jay Gordon (vocals), Amir Derakh (guitar), Ryan Shuck (guitar), Paige Haley (bass), and Bobby Hewitt (drums). They gained popularity in the late 1990s with their unique blend of electronic, industrial, and alternative rock music.
Orgy made their breakthrough with the release of their debut album, "Candyass," in 1998, which featured their hit cover of New Order's "Blue Monday." The track gained heavy airplay and helped the album achieve platinum status. The band's second album, "Vapor Transmission," was released in 2000 and was well-received, featuring the successful single "Fiction (Dreams in Digital)."
Despite their promising start, Orgy underwent multiple lineup changes in the following years, with Gordon being the only constant member. The band went on hiatus in 2005 but resumed activity in 2010 and has since released several EPs.
Throughout their career, Orgy has been known for their futuristic, synth-heavy sound, and visually striking, makeup-heavy image. Despite changes and challenges, they have maintained a loyal fan base and continue to contribute to the rock music scene.
