My Chemical Romance
My Chemical Romance, often shortened to MCR, is an American rock band formed in Newark, New Jersey, in 2001. The band's current lineup includes lead vocalist Gerard Way, lead guitarist Ray Toro, rhythm guitarist Frank Iero, and bassist Mikey Way. They are known for their popularization of the emo style of music, a subgenre of punk rock that combines confessional lyrics and punk aggression.
Before their breakup in 2013, My Chemical Romance released four studio albums:
- I Brought You My Bullets, You Brought Me Your Love (2002)
- Three Cheers for Sweet Revenge (2004)
- The Black Parade (2006)
- Danger Days: The True Lives of the Fabulous Killjoys (2010)
Some of their most popular songs include "I'm Not Okay (I Promise)" and "Helena" from Three Cheers for Sweet Revenge, which earned them a devoted following and sold more than one million copies in the United States. In December 2019, My Chemical Romance performed to a sold-out crowd in Los Angeles, indicating a possible reunion.
