Disturbed
Disturbed is an American heavy metal band formed in Chicago, Illinois, in 1994. The group's founding members include vocalist David Draiman, guitarist Dan Donegan, drummer Mike Wengren, and bassist Steve Kmak. The band's original name was 'Brawl', but after Draiman joined, they changed it to 'Disturbed', reflecting their challenging beginnings and the intense music they wanted to create.
Disturbed released their debut album, 'The Sickness', in 2000, which gained them significant popularity. The album included the hit single "Down with the Sickness", which became one of their best-known songs. The band's music often addresses dark themes, with powerful, driving rhythms and Draiman's distinctive, guttural vocals.
Following 'The Sickness', Disturbed has released several successful albums including 'Believe' (2002), 'Ten Thousand Fists' (2005), 'Indestructible' (2008), 'Asylum' (2010), 'Immortalized' (2015), and 'Evolution' (2018). They've had numerous number one singles on the Billboard Mainstream Rock chart and have sold millions of albums worldwide.
Disturbed is known for their energetic live performances and has toured extensively throughout their career. They're also recognized for their cover of Simon & Garfunkel's "The Sound of Silence", which brought them renewed attention in 2015.
Despite a brief hiatus from 2011 to 2015, Disturbed remains a dominant force in the heavy metal genre. Their commitment to delivering high-energy performances and producing intense, emotive music has ensured their enduring popularity.
