Black Map is an American rock band from San Francisco, California. Formed in 2013, the band consists of three members: Ben Flanagan on bass and vocals, Mark Engles on guitar, and Chris Robyn on drums. Each member brings a wealth of experience to the band, with Flanagan previously part of the Trophy Fire, Engles a member of Dredg, and Robyn formerly of Far.
The band made their debut in 2014 with their first EP, "Driver," quickly establishing their heavy, melodic sound. Their first full-length album, "…And We Explode," was released later that year, earning them a dedicated fanbase and critical acclaim for their unique blend of rock, metal, and post-hardcore elements.
Black Map's music has been described as powerfully emotive, featuring intricate guitar work, thunderous drumming, and Flanagan's passionate vocals. They've toured extensively, sharing stages with notable bands such as Bush, Chevelle, and Circa Survive.
