Can I change my VIP Fishing Package to another Superstar or Legend?

Accepted Answer

VIP Fishing Package sales are final and non-transferable. Once a package is sold, we are unable to accommodate requests for changes due to the nature of the event.

What is the difference between The Legends Pro-Am Package and A Player Package?

Accepted Answer

A Legends Pro-Am Package is for four participants to fish with one of the legendary football players on the Legends team during The Catch Pro-Am. Team pairings will be announced on Friday, April 11, beginning at 7pm prior to The Catch Kickoff Concert, where you’ll find out which Legend you’ve been paired with.

A Superstars Player Package is for four participants to fish with a specific player on the Superstars team during The Catch Pro-Am. Guests may choose and confirm a specific player on the Superstars team at the time of purchase.

Question 3

Is it possible to add room nights onto my VIP Fishing Package, or add additional rooms?

Yes, our VIP hospitality team is more than happy to assist you in coordinating additional room nights or adding additional rooms to your package. Additional room night rates, taxes and standard fees shall apply. Please email our concierge team at VIP@sportfishingchampionship.com for additional information on adding rooms or room nights.

Question 4

What species will we be targeting and scoring in The Catch Pro-Am?

Accepted Answer

The Catch Pro Am uses Sport Fishing Championship’s scoring system. South Florida and Broward County’s waters are known for their world-class sailfishing in early April! Qualified catches are awarded for billfish that are released, and the following points are rewarded for released billfish:
● Blue Marlin: 350 points
● White Marlin & Spearfish: 150 points
● Sailfish: 100 points
Participants can harvest “Championship Fish” species, including Mahi Mahi, Wahoo and all Tuna species. Awards will be given out for 1st place and 2nd place in the Mahi Mahi, Wahoo and Tuna categories for the heaviest fish weight at the Pier Sixty-Six Marina docks. All fish must be weighed in at Pier Sixty-Six by a Tournament Official.

Is it possible to purchase VIP Fishing Packages for less than four people?

We will do our best! VIP Packages are first come, first serve. If you have interest in attending the event and are flexible with which Superstar or Legend you fish with, we are happy to add you to our VIP Fishing Package wait list to see if we can pair you with another group. Please email our concierge team at VIP@sportfishingchampionship.com for additional information on joining the wait list.

Question 6

Can I bring food and beverages on the boat?

Lunch, snacks, waters, beverages and alcoholic beverages will be provided at no additional cost to all VIP Fishing Package holders at The Catch Pro-Am. Guests with food allergies should email VIP@sportfishingchampionship.com at least seven (7) days prior to the event so we can make accommodations to best serve you!

Question 8

How long is The Catch Pro-Am Fishing Tournament?

Accepted Answer

Boats will begin departing the Pier Sixty-Six Marina at 8am on Saturday, April 12. Information on departure times for your fishing team will be provided at check-in and guest services staff will always be available in the Hospitality Room inside the Tavistock Ballroom. There will be a “shotgun start” from the South Jetties at 9:00am led by the U.S. Coast Guard, and teams will fish until “lines out” is called at 3:00pm local time. Boats will then return to Pier Sixty-Six at 3:00pm, and return times can take between 30 and 90 minutes, depending on the location where the team was fishing.

Question 9

Can I bring my own boat and boat captain to compete in The Catch Pro-Am?

Accepted Answer

Yes, participants may provide their own boat and compete in The Catch Pro-Am with the purchase of a Legends or Superstars package. Participants who elect to participate with their own vessel must follow all event and tournament rules. If you are interested in competing with your own boat, a release waiver must be executed at check-in on Friday, April 11, in the Hospitality Room in the Tavistock Ballroom. A $400 credit will be refunded to the team’s method of payment within fifteen (15) days of the event.

Is the event rain or shine?

Accepted Answer

VIP Fishing Packages are rain or shine, and non-refundable. The Catch Pro-Am tournament officials will monitor weather and local NOAA small craft advisors to assure the competition is held in safe conditions. The event may be rescheduled to Friday (4/11) or Sunday (4/13) if a small craft advisory is issued by NOAA on the tournament date.

Question 11

Will the Superstars and Legends be available for autographs?

Accepted Answer

In order to create a fun, intimate environment for the players and VIP Package Holders, The Catch has a strict “no autographs” policy. Memorabilia, photos, footballs and other items may not be taken into any Official Events of The Catch. Pictures may be taken at the discretion and with the permission of the players.

Question 12

Do I need to bring anything on the boat for The Catch Pro-Am?

Accepted Answer

Nope! Just be ready to have an epic experience fishing alongside a gridiron Superstar or Legend! SFC highly suggests wearing a bathing suit or board shorts, non-slip boat shoes, long-sleeved UPF protective shirts, a hat and sunglasses. Sunscreen will be provided in all Angler’s Bags in the Hospitality Room, courtesy of our corporate partners at SLAM Sunscreen!

Question 13

I’ve never fished offshore or a tournament. Is there anything I should know?

Accepted Answer

If you are unsure if you get seasick, SFC recommends you consult your physician on preventative measures to avoid an uncomfortable day on the waters. While SFC cannot recommend medications, there are many over the counter items that help avoid sea sickness. When fishing the tournament, the captains and mates will handle all of the preparation so your day on the water can be spent enjoying the day and (hopefully) reeling in fish!

Does my VIP Fishing Package get my party of four access to all events?

VIP Fishing Packages grant access to all Official Events of The Catch, including the Hospitality Room, The Catch Media Day, poolside Beach Bash, The Catch Kickoff Concert, The Catch Pro-Am and Awards Ceremony. There are additional experiences and events made available exclusively to VIP Package holders for additional purchases.
